Welcome to this weeks letter.
Hope 2012 has been good to you so far!
 
I've been really busy in the salon. There seems to have been a lot of clients starting the year off with completely new styles & in particular changes to their colours. It's been a lot of fun!
 
However I've noticed as mentioned last week an increase in what we call "colour corrections". This basically means trying to rescue & correct colours that have gone wrong ,very often at home or a friends home.
90% of the time we can usually remedy the problem but sometimes it is not always possible.
 
Trying out a true shampoo colour is relatively safe but please be very careful with colour products that you have to twist, shake to activate or mix liquids or powders together, at the end of the day these are chemicals. These colour products contain some form of processing or activating product. In other words some form of peroxide or ammonia based agent. These are not semi permanent, they may well be Demi permanent but many end up being permanent in that they alter the state,porosity & condition of your hair. People often get duped by the marketing material & think they are using colours that will completely wash out of the hair when in fact they won't.
 
The reason we use PAUL MITCHELL Hair colour is that it contains a patented Beeswax complex to protect & add shine & also it has a very low ammonia content unlike the majority of colour ranges. In fact the Paul Mitchell SHINES range is an ammonia free Demi permanent range.
To be honest Paul Mitchell does cost us a little more than other ranges but the quality is far better!
 
If you are ever unsure about what to do with your colour or perhaps know someone that has a colour problem please just pop in for a free consultation just to clarify your options & what is possible & safe.
 
Just a bit of extra advice if you are visiting the salon to change your style always ask your stylist to cut it first & then discuss & decide upon your new colour after the cut. Your colour can then be designed to work in unison with your new style. There are so many great methods & techniques these days it's almost limitless....& a lot of fun. If you have a budget you are working with tell your stylist so you get the best out of them. Colour starts from£5.85 , I often use wedges which are only £8 each, a couple of these can dynamically transform a hairstyle......your hair should be enjoyable, fun & make you feel good......if it's not then it's time for a change.....where to start? An honest conversation with your hair designer!

 
KIDS 4 A QUID
 On Saturday we ran a Kids for a quid offer on Facebook. This proved really popular, so we are running it today,Tuesday & Wednesday to help out all the patents out there! Basically all kids up to the age of 12 can have their hair cut & styled for a quid when accompanied by an adult paying full price for a cut & style .spread the word!

TRAINING MODELS
 We run our NVQ training sessions every Monday in Brighton.
 Cut & styles are from £9.50 & colours are half price.

 However please do understand these guys are trainees, they will take a lot longer than our qualified stylists & results cannot be guaranteed. 
 
All our salons have a team meeting every Friday morning. Quite often we need models for demonstrating cutting or colouring. Checkout our windows,Facebook or webpage or just call us for availability
 
Also we often give notice on our Facebook page of any last minute needs for training models.

... Just wanted to send a short note to tell you how wonderful the staff at PeeWees Brighton were on the morning of my wedding day! My usual stylist suggested a style for me a few weeks before the big day and styled my hair beautifully for my wedding and it made me feel even more special on my big day!  Siobhan did my bridesmaids' hair and theylooked lovely.   My mother's hair was also done (by Natalie) and she was so pleased as well. ........I have to say I was very impressed with my first appointment at Peewees, Burgesshill.  Olivia made me feel valued as a customer, looked after and pampered.  It is always nerve racking going to a new hairdresser when you have had one for many years and then go and try another hairdressers, and just feel for no reason, very uncomfortable.  I was feeling a little hesitant and nervous but those feelings soon disappeared after a perfect cup of tea and an amazing hair wash and massage, it was so relaxing. My hair cut looks and feels wonderful and at about £10 cheaper than my last two salons, I was very pleased.  I have had many compliments on what a lovely cut it is.You have a new permanent customer who cannot wait to come back for the next appointment.
